009 Double-Skin Natural Chocolate Sheepskins
This double sheepskin is in the showroom for viewing and is available for purchase.
Two lambskins sewn together. These exotic cross-breed New Zealand lambskins are soft, luxurious and naturally gorgeous.
This colourful and hardy breed of sheep is the result of cross-breeding with the South African Dorper. It also contains genes from other exotic breeds like the Finnish Landrace which helps to give the beautiful coloured fleece, as well as the standard Romney so popular in New Zealand.
The sheep are perfectly suited to the extreme costal climate of the Northern Wairarapa and Southern Hawkes Bay on the East coast of New Zealand and happily graze between the cabbage trees with magnificent views of the South Pacific Ocean.
The lambskins are professionally chrome tanned and therefore washable. We have deliberately kept the brushing of the fleece to a minimum so the natural wool crimp is obvious. The skins and the wool are soft and flexible. The rugs are unlined and do not slip on hard floors.
The colour can vary from a warm black to milk chocolate and sometimes include small areas of mottled white or grey but skins are hand selected to closely match each other in colour and wool length when made into double-skins and quad-skins. The legs are left on as they are always black – these can be trimmed off if you prefer.
Use this lovely product draped lovingly over a chair or sofa for the ultimate in comfort. They are also suitable for use as a floor rug and are ideal for a home theatre, bedroom or family room.
Availability is very limited; this is a niche product and a rare opportunity to own a gorgeous natural lambskin with a compelling New Zealand story. 100% made in New Zealand.
